Happy Birthday Dad

Living the good life
My Dad also had his Birthday. On November 12th. He spent it at the Grand Canyon with my Mom and my brother Mike, and his family. He hasn't been there since he was a kid and I'm glad that he went back. It was my Moms first time so I'm glad they got to go together.

In all honestly, my Dad is one of the coolest people around. I'm so lucky that I have a good amazing relationship with him. He is the world to me and I am so proud of him in so many ways. I love you so much Dad. I hope you had a great birthday.  XOXOX

This is how we do it

Zoo Birthday

The Saturday after my birthday, My parents and I went to the Phoenix Zoo. I had never been there and it was actually pretty awesome. We spent all day at the zoo, then we ate a Cooper Town, and then had ice cream at Mary Coyle. My dad actually used to eat there with his folks when he was a kid. I plan on caring the tradition if I can. I was a perfect day to walk around the zoo. It was a bit chilly at first, but with the walking and the sunshine, it became the perfect temperature. Thanks for a wonderful day Mom and Dad!

I know its been a month and I'm sorry about my lack of posting. I think I need to make a resolution to blog more this up coming year.

So lets start where I left you last. November 2nd.

Believe it or not, that was my birthday. My 22nd birthday to be exact. I spent it by eating lots of sweets, cuddling with Kolby, and playing video games. I know, pretty boring but there was so many parties leading up to my birthday, that the last thing I wanted to do was party. So I did a lazy birthday, and let me tell you, it was great.

I have the sweetest girlies in my ASL class. They made these for me.

The lovely Tia make this beautiful (and tasty) cake for me

And Kolby got this awesome ice cream cake for me. I told you, a lot of sweets.

The rest of the night pretty much looked like this. It was great. Someday I have that crazy birthday, but I'm glad that it wasn't this one cause nothing can beat this right here. So here's to being 2. Hooray.

We went out on Wednesday at midnight (so technically Thursday) and went dancing. Then on Thursday night, a bunch of us went out to celebrate. It was a blast. Happy Birthday Krystal!!!

I'm Alive!

Its been quite sometime since my last post I know. I have been wanted to post but I'm so behind on it, that its been discouraging to start a post. So today, I just got to get it out of the way and have a catch up of missed events, sorry to everyone that will be in this post. Know that I know, you deserve a full "just you post" but I hope you can understand love you all.

Okay, so my last post was of my Oregon cost trip, So lets start there. The reason I went to OR was to help my sister plan (and of course celebrate) my niece Maisie 1st birthday. I was there a year ago for the birth and now I got to see her growing up, and turning one years old. I'm going to post a few photos, but my Sister documented the event ( and the little life of Maisie) on her blog over at Sugar & Spice and Everything Nice. Its a good read.

On June 19th was Fathers Day! I love my father like nobody business. Him and I are so alike with our humor and interest. Its not hard to see how close we are. Anyone that knows us can tell we are a father daughter duo right away. I always take it was a complement. I think my dad is one of the funniest, handiest, hardworking people that I know. He will offer his help to anyone. I couldn't have asked for a better Dad. He's always looking out for me and he will do anything for me. I love the time him and I share together and I'm glad that I get to call him my Father.

June 17th was Sammie and Austins 2nd anniversary. I can't believe that it's been two years! I'm so happy for them and the fact they had my little niece. They are such a great couple. I have known Austin since I was 14 years old. Him and I did choir together in high school. I swear, that if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have had so much fun my last year at Sprague. I couldn't have thought of a better person for my best friend, and sister. Congrats you two and thanks for letting me be apart of you biggest moments in life so far, I am truly honored. I miss you three so much and I hope that I'll see ya soon.

The Forth Of July growing up was always a big event at our place. Being that we lived in Oregon, we could actually buy real fireworks. Being that Washington was so close, we could get bad ass firework. Some how, my dad would find a way to Washington and bring home roman candles and mortars. (right on Dad!)  Our driveway was always full of family and friends, grilling up hamburgers and hot dogs and of course s'mores. Now that I'm older, and living in AZ, (real) fireworks aren't really something that I can have. You can buy some very crappy one at the store but that's not the 4th to me. Go big or go home I guess. So I watched the ballpark down the street from my house have there show. To be honest, it was pretty darn good. I was close enough to smell them. All my photos were on my phone which is getting fixed so this photo will have to do.

As for me, I have been trying to stay cool this summer, and believe it or not, the summer is flying by. Though I am glad that fall is right around the corner. Kolby and I are wanted to head to California here soon for some relaxing time at the beach. He just got off probation (the first 90 days) from his new job so we can actually go somewhere. We haven't really done anything this summer so I hope we can fit something in now that is job is secure.

I can't remember where I got this!!! Sorry People

I start school on Monday and I'm excited to continue my sign language degree. Hopefully, I can be in the interpreter program by spring. Keep ya posted.  Alright I don't think I forgot anything, but please remind me if I did!

Catching Up

On the 21st of this month it was my Mothers Birthday! Her and I went to downtown Glendale and had a date at a little tea house and then looked at antiques and did a bit of shopping. It was so nice just to have a mother/daughter date. I think I need to plan some more very, very soon. Of course, I forgot to take ANY pictures but I do have some cute ones of my Mom that I want to post anyways. Shes a wonderful person, mother, grandmother, wife and friend. I love you Mommy! Happy Birthday!!!

Joking around with my Dad

Last Sunday was Easter and I spent it with my family by the pool at my parents house. It was so nice to see everyone. (I'll need to get some photos from my dad.) It was also nice to lay in the sun.  It was a beautiful day for a family day.

My good friend Tia and I had a date night last week too. We went to Yardhouse and split that amazing grilled cheese and then since we were at Westgate, we stopped by the Irish pub for a drink. We ended up in the corner of the place watching this very silly dancer guy. I feel bad saying that but seriously, if you could see how this guy was getting down... Priceless. He was, no joke, pretending to bite his dance partners knees and such. So weird!

Horrible picture quality, but it was so dark in there is was the best I got.

That is all for now I guess. I'll be posting more I hope soon. Kolby has been playing this PC game and I can never get on anymore! Since hes at work, I get to blog and surf away. Hopefully, I'll get my laptop soon, and then I wont have to push him off if I want on.

Charming Three

Okay, so I know I said that I was going to post on Friday. As you know, its Sunday and I didn't. I do have a good reason (sorta...) Kolby and I got a new computer and he has been setting it up and spending time on it. I'm not about to push him off of it when he just got it all set up.

Some good news is that its my cat Arienette's Birthday! Well, its her adoption day since I don't know when she was born but anyways, Shes three. Arie was around one when we got her so its been two years today since we took her in. And in two months, its Elle's birthday. I'm thinking about having a combo birthday for them. How cute would a little tea party be! ( Super Crazy I know but a girl can dream right?) I took some glamor shots of her today. Here's to turning three!

I would really like to post some more but I have to be at work at 5:20 am so its another long 14 hour day for me. I'm not looking forward to it but I need the money if I'm going to take some well needed time off this summer.

Birthday Boy

Today Kolby turned 24! I'm greatly looking forward to spending this upcoming weekend with him. We are going to sit by our pool and soak up the sun with a few friends. As for today, we both work, but we are going to have a wonderful dinner after we get off and just enjoy the fact that even though we might be getting older, but we are doing it together. Here are some pretty picture of my Birthday Boy!

Love you Boo!

Also its Friday, so I can't forget my weekly post of Fill in the Blank Friday! So here is the third instalment. Play along here.

1.   The phrase or punctuation I overuse most is  "Do you know what I mean?" or just "You know?"  I say that quite a bit when I'm telling stories. I wouldn't know that I do, but Kolby pointed it out to me and now I notice it. Also, I say toad. Not like a frog, but short for totally (even though I know there is no D). It started as a joke, and now I just say it. haha

2.  Today I am thankful for it being Friday. I have the next two days off and its going to be a wonderful!

3.  My best friend is    (Other than my Parents, and Sister) It would be Kolby because hes my partner and to me, that basically means best friend. There is nothing we can't share with other.

4.  A quirky thing about me is     I always shake a little salt over my left shoulder when I tip a salt shaker over, I carry gloves in my glove compartment (thanks Death Cab!), and I make list. Lots of list.

5.  This weekend I     I am going to sit by the pool and eat kabobs with my dear friends. I also hope to watch some Meerkat Manor. I know its an old show but I never watched it and its on netflix now. I love them!

6.  Something that worries me is     not having health insuance of any kind.

 7.  On my night stand you would find       my cell phone charger, a glass of water, about 3 books and a bottle of lotion.

Desert Winter

Christmas is on the way yet again, and I seemed to be blown away on how fast it rolls around. Another year passing by, and a new year to enjoy will be here soon. It has been a nice winter here so far. Warm days and cold nights. Nothing crazy and snowy like other places in the U.S but I'm definitely not complaining. Driving to work with my windows down most days is pretty nice and a winter wonderland isn't too far away either. Kolby and I are planning on heading up north soon to play in the snow and hit the slopes! We have never been boarding together so it will be a great time I'm sure. Until then, we are enjoying the chilly nights on the balcony. What else do you need besides a warm drink in hand, good company and good conversation. Slowly Ive been decoration the place to bring in the holiday cheer. With a beautiful tree, candles, and the scent of something yummy cooking in the oven, it actually feels like winter/Christmas time here in the desert.

My very dear friend Tia and I made Gingerbread houses on Thursday, and it was actually really fun. We had hot coco with baileys and decorated away. Hers turned out awesome! Her dog Ender licked her roof while we were not watching and sort of ruined one side, but other than that it was a beautiful house. I don't have a picture of hers, but I do have one of mine.

Also, I wanted to show off my cute birch candles!

And Last but not least, my good friend Thomas celebrated his 26th birthday on Thursday. So Happy Birthday and glad to have spent it with you!
